Some problems with buying a new home

Since I had already signed the papers of ownership, the refrigerator already belonged to me

My wife and I watched the real estate listing in Jacksonville for several years. Although we were quite happy with our home on the outskirts of Avondale, we really wanted to be directly on the St. Johns river. However, we were unwilling to invest in a property in the flood zone. We’d seen and experienced too much storm damage to take that risk. We must have toured two dozen homes for sale before we finally found the perfect one for us. The house is larger than we need, but we just love the view of the river. We get to see the lights from the bridge, spot dolphins in the water and get all different types of boats anchoring behind our property. We also get to enjoy fireworks from EverBanks stadium when there are sporting events. We initially didn’t think we would get the house. We made an offer but it went under contract to someone else. That potential buyer was unable to secure the necessary financing, so our offer was eventually accepted. Another issue was that the owners of the home had issues with their new location and made a stipulation that they could remain in residence for another month. During that time, we scheduled a roofing replacement. The owners were very upset by the noise of the roofers. They complained about where the contractors parked their vehicles, how early they started in the morning and all sorts of ridiculous problems. Another aggravation was when the former owner called and asked me if I wanted to buy his refrigerator. Since I had already signed the papers of ownership, the refrigerator already belonged to me. I was not happy to learn that he was attempting to sell appliances out of my new home.
